How might we help women with PCOS and hormonal disorders reclaim control over their health by combining AI-driven insights with expert support and personalized care?
Introduction
Harmoniq Health was born out of a mission to help women take control of their hormonal and metabolic health. The platform combines a continuous glucose monitoring with AI-driven personalization and expert guidance. This integration creates dynamic health plans that adapt as each woman’s needs evolve.
Harmoniq provides not just recommendations, but also the structure, accountability, and support needed to achieve long-term wellbeing.

The Challenge
Hormonal and metabolic disorders represent one of the most pressing yet underserved areas in women’s health. Research shows that 80% of women worldwide experience metabolic or hormonal issues, which translates into more than 3.1 billion women globally. Among these conditions, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common, affecting 410 million women of reproductive age. Alarmingly, up to 70% of cases go undiagnosed, making PCOS not only a silent epidemic but also a leading cause of infertility worldwide. In the United States alone, the annual cost of PCOS treatment exceeds $8 billion.
Beyond PCOS, related conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, PMS, hypothyroidism, and menopause symptoms further compound the challenge. These conditions do not only affect physical health but also reduce quality of life, disrupt careers through absenteeism, and create significant mental health burdens.
PCOS is a growing and painful problem where women face ineffective treatment, lack of guidance & misinformation.
Despite this scale, women consistently face systemic barriers to care. General practitioners often lack the detailed expertise needed to properly diagnose or manage PCOS.
Specialists such as endocrinologists and gynecologists are in high demand, often with long waiting lists, which delays access to timely treatment. Online, misinformation thrives, with unverified health claims and influencer-promoted “cures” misleading patients. Even when women are correctly diagnosed, lifestyle change (the most effective and sustainable approach to managing PCOS) proves extremely difficult to maintain.

In fact, 70% of patients prefer lifestyle change over medication, but more than 57% admit they struggle to maintain these changes long-term, largely due to a lack of real-time feedback or measurable progress. Here's where Harmoniq comes in.

PCOS medications vary in effectiveness for different symptoms as seen above, additionally each carrying its own set of potential side effects.
How to make lifestyle change measurable, motivating, and sustainable - while also making high-quality, evidence-based care more accessible to women everywhere?
Methodologies Used
- Mapping out women’s struggles with PCOS, reframing them into clear opportunity areas, and iteratively testing prototypes.
- Surveys and interviews with women aged 20–40 living with PCOS to capture unmet needs around misinformation, symptom tracking, and lifestyle change.
- Designing an AI “co-pilot” RAG model that delivers verified answers, nutrition suggestions, and lifestyle recommendations directly tied to patient health data.
- Building a B2C app for patients while also crafting B2B solutions for nutritionists and clinics, enabling better patient tracking, engagement, and operational scalability.
Impact
Harmoniq aimed to be the first lifestyle-change platform in Europe designed specifically for PCOS. It bridges the gap between clinical research, technology, and women’s everyday experiences by combining medical-grade tracking with personalized lifestyle guidance. Harmoniq was designed for two key user groups: patients and healthcare professionals.

For patients (B2C):
Harmoniq equips women with a continuous glucose monitor to provide real-time feedback on how their body responds to food, stress, and sleep. This data is translated into a Harmoniq Score, which synthesizes metrics like glucose control, insulin sensitivity, hormone balance, menstrual regularity, symptom tracking, and weight management into a single, understandable number. Women receive dynamic lifestyle plans that are continuously refined through AI, alongside unlimited access to certified health coaches and telehealth support. To combat misinformation, the platform ensures that all information comes from verified medical sources.

For healthcare professionals (B2B)
Nutritionists and clinics gain a powerful patient management system that consolidates diet logs, symptom tracking, and health progress in one dashboard. AI-driven engagement tools help maintain adherence, while automated tracking reduces manual workload.

Team
This project originated during the Antler Residency 2024 in Amsterdam, a global venture builder and early-stage investor that supports founders in creating and scaling startups. Over the course of two months, we explored the opportunity and developed the concept in collaboration with Oliver Hoare and Rajit Rajappa. Ultimately, the team chose not to continue the project together and decided to pursue separate paths.
